The "Pointing to the Land" stone tablet stands in front of Wangjiang Pavilion on Orange Isle. Engraved with the great man's own calligraphy of the four characters "Pointing to the Land", it is taken from the famous line "Pointing to the Land, Stirring Words" in the poem Qin Yuan Chun · Changsha.
The tablet was erected to commemorate the great man's youthful days, when he often came to Orange Isle with friends to discuss current affairs and seek the truth of national salvation. Beside the tablet stands a venerable tree over 180 years old, and the spot also offers a fine view of the Xiang River and the scenery of Orange Isle.
Guiyuan (Osmanthus Garden) on Orange Isle is one of the scenic area's "Four Gardens." It features over 200 osmanthus trees of varieties such as golden osmanthus, silver osmanthus, red osmanthus, and four-season osmanthus, covering about 46 mu.
Framed by green trees and red blossoms, the statue of the young great man stands quietly beneath the blue sky, solemn and serene.
A long-tailed bird rests on the petal-strewn grass. Its black, white, gray, and blue plumage contrasting beautifully with the pink petals.
